Nether How is a secluded area in the Vinkus along the Great Kells, overlooking five lakes. It is where Liir, Candle, Ilianora, Iskinaary, and Rain settle after splitting from the rest of the Company of the Time Dragon.

History

The family build a cottage at Nether How and live there for about three years until they are forced to leave due to a bounty on the Grimmerie and the potential danger to Rain.

Sometime later, after Ozma and Brrr restore order to Oz, the family return to Nether How. After one year, however, Candle and Liir’s relationship ends as the couple can never resolve their quarrel; Candle leaves, much to Rain’s sadness, and while it is unknown where Candle situates herself after leaving Liir, it is later revealed in The Witch of Maracoor, that Candle still visits Liir and Rain at Nether How from time to time to make sure they are okay. It is also revealed that Trism now lives at Nether How with Liir as well, their romance reconnected.

It is here that Rain buries the Grimmerie, marking the spot with Elphaba's broom, which then sprouts a tree of magic brooms.

Description

Dug into the side of a hill, the tidy cottage sits on a stone foundation and has a shingled roof. The family also keeps a small garden and farm near the cottage.
